Free-to-play games are home to all kinds of crossovers these days, from Rick Sanchez and Superman appearing in Fortnite, to Garena’s Free Fire welcoming Ryu and Chun-Li from Street Fighter into their game.
Ninjala, the free-to-play Nintendo Switch exclusive, is no stranger to crossovers, as they have previously done massive collaborations with Splatoon, Sonic the Hedgehog, and Monster Hunter Rise.
Their latest crossover event will see the main characters of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba joining the fray as unlockable costumes for the game’s custom characters, as well as all sorts of other in-game unlockables like emotes and weapon skins.
Judging from the initial announcement trailer, players will be able to dress up as Tanjiro Kamado, Nezuko Kamado, Kyojuro Rengoku, and Hashibira Inosuke. The unlockable emotes will also have players mimicking the characters’ signature fighting poses and techniques.
For the uninitiated, Ninjala is a third-person arena battler, where players control agile ninjas who power up their weapons using bubble gum. Matches can be a free-for-all with eight players, or played in teams of four.
As for Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, this manga and anime franchise has been picking up steam since the release of its first movie, Mugen Train, and has been appearing in all sorts of video games, like Onmyoji Arena.
The first video game adaptation of the series, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - The Hinokami Chronicles, will be released on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC this October 15.
